Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

A2 started trading in October 2024. The company operates without fixed physical offices. The lack of permanent infrastructure is more energy efficient and staff commuting journeys are reduced. This baseline year will be the first full calendar year operating this way.

The business does not use any energy intensive machinery or output physical products.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to monitor our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

• Minimise car journeys and adopt digital meetings where practicable;

• Produce documentation digitally, including documents,ent signing;

• Adopt a working from home policy allowing staff to work at home part-time or full-time;

We project that our carbon emissions will be significantly below that of comparable office based companies.

Carbon Reduction Projects

There are some plans in place to reduce the emissions classified in Scope 1 and 2 detailed below. Our main emissions are mostly classified in Scope 3 and of these, transportation is the dominant area in which we believe savings can be made.

Energy Efficiency:

• Using laptops rather than desktop PCs;

• Adopting virtual meetings over physical meetings where practicable;

Waste Reduction:

• Save for legally required paperwork, the business has adopted a paperless system wherever possible;

• Car sharing where practicable;

Sustainable Procurement:

• Paper, when required, is obtained from sustainable sources/suppliers;

The Energy Performance Report which contributes to the summary information provided above, is an annual report that allows the business to measure the effectiveness of the targets and strategies adopted during the year.

Performance against the targets is reviewed by management at least annually, and new strategies proposed. New targets are set, and existing targets changed (as appropriate) to reflect the expected savings as part of the PLAN >> DO >> CHECK >> ACT cycle of continual improvement.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions will be reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting .

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions will be reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions will be reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
